PocRoc® Monkeypox Virus IgM/IgG Antibody Rapid Test Kit (Colloidal Gold)
Monkeypox is an uncommon illness caused by monkeypox virus infection that may be passed from person to person by direct contact with infectious rash, scabs, or bodily fluids. It may also be transmitted by respiratory secretions during prolonged face-to-face contact or close physical contact[2]. Endemic monkeypox is largely self-limiting, with case fatality rates ranging from 1 to 10% depending on the lineage. The monkeypox virus usually incubates for 7-14 days before causing symptoms, which include fever, headache, muscular pains, and enlarged lymph nodes, followed by a rash[3].
Detection of anti-orthopoxvirus IgG and IgM reactivity during the first week after rash development was found in both vaccinated and nonvaccinated subjects in the context of an acute-phase induction against monkeypox virus. Positive IgG titers were detected as early as day 1 and day 2 following the commencement of the rash, and continued until day 147 and day 139 in vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, respectively. Positive IgM titers were detected in both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals as early as day 2 following rash development. Positive IgM titers were detected in unvaccinated cases up to day 126, whereas vaccinated cases had detectable titers up to day 77[4].
The PocRoc® Monkeypox Virus IgM/IgG Antibody Rapid Test Kit (Colloidal Gold) is designed to detect and differentiate anti-Monkeypox Virus IgM and IgG antibodies in human serum/plasma/whole blood samples (including venous blood and fingertip blood) from patients suspected of Monkeypox Virus infection in vitro.
For in vitro diagnostic use only.
