PocRoc® Monkeypox Virus Nucleic Acid Test Kit (RT-PCR)
Monkeypox (MPV) is a double-stranded DNA zoonotic virus caused by an orthopoxvirus, a species of the genus Orthopoxvirus in the family Poxviridae. It is one of the human orthopoxviruses that includes variola (VARV), cowpox (CPX), and vaccinia (VACV) viruses. The symptoms of monkeypox disease are very similar to those of smallpox. Since the eradication of smallpox, monkeypox has become the most prominent orthopoxvirus to cause a public health issue. Normally found in central and west Africa it has recently made an appearance in many other non-endemic parts of the world.
Intended Use
This product is an in vitro diagnostic kit used for the detection of Monkeypox Virus Nucleic Acids. The kit can be used to assess samples from skin swabs, papule or vesicle. The kit specifically amplify and detect the nucleic acid sequence of Monkeypox Virus, and there is no cross-reaction with other related viruses.
The kit is used for in vitro qualitative detection of suspected cases of Monkeypox Virus (MPV), clustered cases and other cases that need to be diagnosed for Monkeypox Virus infection.
