Intended Use

Ketones are substances produced in the liver when fat cells break down in the blood. This Ketone body test strip is used to measure the amount of ketones in the blood and diagnose ketoacidosis.

 
A ketone test can be a warn of a serious diabetes complication called diabetic ketoacidosis, or DKA. An elevated level of this substance in your blood can mean you have very high blood sugar. Too many ketones can trigger DKA, which is a medical emergency.
 
It is used with Lumigenex's Pro Chek® Dry Chemistry Analyzer which provides diagnostic answers in 2 minutes.
The Dry Chemistry Analyzer should only be used by healthcare professionals and for in vitro diagnostic use.
