Intended Use
This test kit measures Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin in the blood sample as to diagnose early renal injury.
Chronic kidney disease which has led to high mortality and immense medical burden has become a distressing concern in epidemiology. Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LCN2 gene. It is involved in innate immunity by sequestrating iron that in turn limits bacterial growth. It is expressed in neutrophils and in low levels in the kidney, prostate, and epithelia of the respiratory and alimentary tracts. NGAL is used as a biomarker of kidney injury.
 
It is used with Lumigenex LTRIC Series 's Time-Resolved Fluorescence Immunoassay Analyzer which provides diagnostic answers in 15 minutes.
The Analyzer should only be used by healthcare professionals and for in vitro diagnostic use.
