Intended Use

This Ketone body test strip is used to quantitatively detect the concentration of ketones in the blood specimen, and diagnose ketoacidosis.

 

High ketone body levels can cause diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a potentially life-threatening complication. it's recommended to monitor ketone levels when patients have already been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Ketone testing is particularly important during periods of illness. It's also necessary to conduct blood ketone body tests if people are following a ketogenic diet and want to ensure it's in ketosis.
Regular tests at home can spot if ketone levels run too high. Then taking insulin to lower the blood sugar level or get other treatments to prevent complications.
 
It is used with Lumigenex's Pro Chek® Dry Chemistry Analyzer which provides diagnostic answers in 2 minutes.
The Dry Chemistry Analyzer should only be used by healthcare professionals for in vitro diagnostic use.
