Glycosylated Hemoglobin Test Strips(Dry chemical method)
The Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) test measures the amount of glucose that has attached to hemoglobin in the red blood cells, which is an indicator of average blood sugar levels over the past three months. Hemoglobin is responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the body. The test results are presented as a percentage number. Normal HbA1c levels are below 5.7%. HbA1c levels between 5.7% and 6.4% indicate prediabetes, while the diagnosis of diabetes is confirmed with a HbA1c level of at least 6.5%.
If your HbA1c levels are high, it may be a sign of diabetes, a chronic condition that can cause serious health problems, including heart disease, kidney disease, and nerve damage.
It is used with Lumigenex's Pro Chek® Dry Chemistry Analyzer which provides diagnostic answers in 2 minutes.
The Dry Chemistry Analyzer should only be used by healthcare professionals and for in vitro diagnostic use.
