Glycosylated Hemoglobin Detection Kit (TRFIA)
The HbA1c test is a useful tool for diagnosing and monitoring diabetes. Hemoglobin, found in the red blood cells, is responsible for transporting oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body. The HbA1c test measures the average amount of glucose that has bound to hemoglobin over the past three months, as this is roughly how long red blood cells typically survive in the body.
HbA1c results are given in percentages. Typical results are below.
Normal: HbA1c below 5.7%
Prediabetes: HbA1c between 5.7% and 6.4%
Diabetes: HbA1c of 6.5% or higher
It is used with Lumigenex's LTRIC series Time-Resolved Fluorescence Immunoassay Analyzer
The Analyzer should only be used by healthcare professionals and for in vitro diagnostic use.
